How do I make an offer for a particular shop unit?

All interested parties have to submit their interest and bids for the shop units through our tender system. Tender forms can be downloaded here, submit the completed forms and necessary documents in our tender box at our Head Quarters at 251 North Bridge Road before the tender closing date and time.

Can I make a direct offer without going through a tender?

Yes, we have a few shop units available for direct negotiation. You may find the information here.

When will I be informed of the tender results?

Tender evaluation and approval will take about six to eight weeks or longer, depending on the tender bids and complexity of the evaluation process.

How I will be informed?

We will notify you by post.

What happens if I am not awarded the tender?

We will notify you and refund the cheque to you by post.

How long is the rent-free period?

Typically, we give tenants a rent-free period of one month.

How long is the lease term?

Three years.

Event Spaces/ Distribution Points/ Sampling

How do I go about leasing an event space/distribution point/sampling?

Please email us at commercial@smrt.com.sg. Do note that you need to give at least three working weeks prior to your preferred date of commencement.

Is there a minimum booking?

You need to commit a minimum of $700 contract value for event spaces, $400 for distribution spaces and $1,000 for sampling.

What does the license fee include?

License fee is for the leasing of spaces within our stations/Xchanges/bus interchanges.

Am I allowed to sell merchandise/food in the stations?

No cash transactions and sale of merchandise/food are allowed at all event spaces, with the exception of Raffles Xchange, Tanjong Pagar Xchange, Dhoby Xchange, Choa Chu Kang Xchange and bus interchanges.

Am I allowed to leave my roadshow items at the station after my operating hours?

No, all roadshow items must be removed at the end of your revenue day. No items can be left unattended at all times. SMRT does not provide any store room except at Lavender and Bugis MRT Stations (subject to change).

Is there a maximum number of roadshow staff allowed at event spaces?

Yes, it depends on which event space you lease. We will advise you when you send in your preferred dates.

When do I sign the agreement and make payment?

All agreements and payment are to be signed and made prior to the commencement of your event.

What is the amount for security deposit and how long does it take?

The amount depends on the total area leased. You may email us at commercial@smrt.com.sg for more details. Refunds typically take between six and eight working weeks after the event day.

Can I cancel my lease after sending in the application form/signing the contract?

Once the application form has been submitted, cancellation or changes to the schedule will only be accepted if you give us at least six weeks of written notice prior to commencement of the event. If cancellation or changes are initiated after agreement has been signed, a processing fee will be imposed.
