Buses Claims & Rebates

In the event of a bus breakdown or ticketing equipment malfunction, this is what you can do.

Breakdown of 2 entry card readers

Please pay by cash at stored value rate, rounded down to the nearest 10 cents. No ticket will be issued.

If you make a valid transfer and wish to file a claim, you can do so via TransitLink's website, call TransitLink Hotline 1800-CALL ONE (1800-2255 663) or stop by a TransitLink Ticket Office within five working days.

Breakdown of 2 exit card readers You will be able to tap your stored value card at the entry card reader. The correct fare will be deducted from your card. N.A.
Bus breakdown but the stored value card system is serviceable The current trip will be free. To claim the initial amount deducted:

  1. Wait for the Bus Captain to switch the readers to the breakdown mode.
  2. Tap your stored value card on the reader located at the door closest to the Bus Captain. This will ensure your stored valuecard is credited with the initial amount deducted.
  3. Collect a complimentary ticket from the Bus Captain. This ticket is valid for one month from date of issue and can be used for another trip.
Collect the complimentary ticket from the Bus Captain and alight. This ticket is valid for one month and can be used for another trip. When boarding the next bus, show the bus ticket to the Bus Captain and inform him the bus you were on earlier had stalled.
All stored value card devices fail but the bus is serviceable
If this occurs,
  • The Bus Captain will complete the journey if there are passengers on board. This is so that commuters do not have to transfer to another bus
  • The Bus Captain will not be able to issue receipts for cash fare or complimentary bus vouchers on the spot.
If you wish to pay for the ride with your stored value card, please wait for the next bus.
If you wish to pay by cash, please board and pay cash at stored value rate, rounded down to the nearest 10 cents. No ticket will be issued.
