This year marks the sixth consecutive year SMRT is supporting Community Chest Fu Dai. Co-organised by Community Chest and Heartwarmers for the tenth year, the annual Fu Dai event aims to spread festive joy to the less fortunate during the Lunar New Year, cultivating the spirit of volunteerism within our community.
This year’s event saw more than 1,300 corporate and community volunteers coming together to pack and deliver over 8,500 prosperity bags over a weekend, all to be delivered to seniors and families in need of assistance. Volunteers from SMRT were involved in the packing and delivering process, while our Strides Taxis were used to transport the prosperity bags to their recipients. To date, the event has raised more than $4.9 million, benefitting more than 100 social service agencies and over 200 critical programmes.
