Faces of SMRT - Sazali Bin Safiie, Assistant Engineer, Fare Systems Maintenance

Sazali Bin Safiie is an Assistant Engineer with 30 years of service at SMRT. Starting as a technician, Sazali has progressed to overseeing the maintenance of fare gates across the extensive SMRT's network. His role includes strategic planning, project management, and mentorship of his team.
Sazali believes in the importance of collaboration among departments, fostering a culture where learning from each other and job rotation are encouraged, building lifelong bonds among colleagues. As a veteran Union Leader, he facilitates open communication between management and staff, ensuring that everyone's voices are heard. He worked closely with the Management team on multiple projects to improve our employees’ productivity. For his contributions, Sazali was awarded the Comrade of Labour during May Day 2023. Sazali is also a strong believer of continuous learning & upgrading as part of personal and organisational growth.
