1. As part of the progressive renewal of the Board of Directors of SMRT Corporation Ltd and its wholly-owned subsidiary, SMRT Trains Ltd., SMRT will appoint two new members to the Boards.

2. SMRT Corporation Ltd will appoint Ms Connie Heng Yen Ling as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2023.

3. SMRT Trains Ltd. will appoint Mr Ng Chin Hwee as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 November 2023.

4. We welcome Ms Heng and Mr Ng to the Boards and look forward to their perspectives and contributions.

5. In the past year, Mr Tan Ek Kia and Dr Philip Pillai stepped down from the Boards. We are thankful to Mr Tan and Dr Pillai for their services and contributions to SMRT.

Annex

Ms Connie Heng is Clifford Chance's Regional Managing Partner in Asia Pacific and a member of the Global Executive Leadership Group. In her 25-plus year career, Ms Heng built and led her firm’s Greater China Capital Markets practice which has been consistently ranked Band 1 by Chambers Asia Pacific, Legal 500 and IFLR. She has also assisted many Hong Kong and Chinese issuers with their international capital markets fund raisings and advised on numerous landmark transactions. She is recognised as a Leading Individual by Chambers Asia Pacific and Legal 500.

Ms Heng has been part of the Clifford Chance delegation to the World Economic Forum in Davos since 2012. As an active supporter of diversity and gender issues, Ms Heng founded the first women's network for Clifford Chance in Asia Pacific. She also sits on the board of The Karen Leung Foundation, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of gynaecological cancer in Hong Kong.

Ms Heng holds a Bachelor of Laws (Second-Class Upper Honours) (LLB) from the National University of Singapore.

Mr Ng Chin Hwee is a Director and the Chief Executive Officer of SIA Engineering Company. Prior to his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer on 1 April 2020, he was the Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Operations in Singapore Airlines Ltd until 31 March 2020.

Mr Ng joined Singapore Airlines in 1985 where he was appointed to various senior positions in Singapore and overseas. In 2004, he returned to Singapore to take up the position of President & Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airport Terminal Services Ltd (SATS). He left SATS to rejoin Singapore Airlines as Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Planning on 1 January 2008. He assumed the position of Executive Vice President Human Resources and Operations on 1 February 2011 and was in charge of the divisions of Cabin Crew, Engineering, Flight Operations, Customer Services and Operations, and Human Resources.

Mr Ng is currently the Deputy Chairman of Singapore Aero Engine Services Pte Ltd and a member of the Advisory Board of the Engineering Systems and Design Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design.

Mr Ng holds a Master of Science degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and a Bachelor of Engineering (First-Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore.
