Donations for lower-income families made easy at SMRT train stations and bus interchanges in Tap For Hope 2022
- In support of lower-income families hard hit by the effects of the pandemic, SMRT Corporation (SMRT) has partnered with the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and EZ-Link to launch the President’s Challenge Tap For Hope 2022 on 14 Nov 2022.
- Tap For Hope leverages the travel convenience in SMRT’s public transport network, making it fuss-free to donate. From 14 Nov – 31 Dec 2022, Commuters with an EZ-Link card, charm or wearable can simply tap to make a $2 donation at specially designed donation stands located at a total of 10 SMRT-operated train stations and bus interchanges:
- MRT stations (x8): Bishan (Circle Line), Bugis (East-West Line), City Hall (North-South, East-West Line), HarbourFront (Circle Line), Jurong East (North-South, East-West Line), Paya Lebar (Circle Line), Serangoon (Circle Line), and Woodlands (North-South Line)
- Bus interchanges (x2): Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub
- Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport and Adviser to Bishan-Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency, made the first tap at the Tap For Hope donation stand at Bishan MRT station, where he graced the launch as Guest-of-Honour.
- Mr Ngien Hoon Ping, Group Chief Executive Officer of SMRT Corporation, said, “As a steward of our public transport spaces, we are pleased to continue our partnership with the President’s Challenge. This year, we urge commuters to help lower income families in Singapore at our Tap For Hope donation stands, conveniently located island wide. Every tap counts.”
- The theme for President’s Challenge 2022 is “Supporting Lower-Income Families” rallying behind those who are most susceptible to the negative impacts of the pandemic. It raises funds for 82 benefitting agencies under the President’s Challenge umbrella.
