SMRT launches third edition of Tap for Hope in support of President’s Challenge 2023 and caregivers

  1. SMRT Corporation launched the third edition of Tap for Hope in support of the President’s Challenge and its 2023 theme of ‘Caring for Caregivers’ to specifically recognise the growing need for caregivers and the critical role they play in Singapore’s healthcare and social support systems.

  1. The funds raised under the Tap for Hope initiative, which is supported by the National Council of Social Services, will benefit 86 charities under the President’s Challenge umbrella. Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State for Home Affairs, and Social and Family Development, was the Guest-of-Honour at the launch today at Bayfront MRT station on the Circle Line, where she activated a launch mechanism to light up the donation stand.

  1. Mr Ngien Hoon Ping, Group Chief Executive Officer of SMRT Corporation, said, “Tap for Hope is an initiative which SMRT is proud to organise and host. This a clear demonstration of our commitment to “Do Good, Do Right, and Do Well”. Beyond providing commuters with safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation, we envision our SMRT network to be vibrant spaces that can support societal causes and enrich our community’s wellbeing.”
