In alignment with SMRT Corporation’s core values, the senior management and staff led by example and contributed to local charitable initiatives as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the "Doing GOOD" belief. This initiative is aimed at fostering a positive impact on the community, helping to build a culture of care for the vulnerable especially the elderly and persons with disabilities, to encourage a sense of care, unity and mutual respect within the community. 

This afternoon, at the Kampung Senang Charity Concert organised by Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation (Kampung Senang), SMRT Chairman Mr Seah Moon Ming who was the Guest-of-Honour said: “We believe in the power of collective action in doing good for the community we serve. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading messages of care, every act of goodwill leaves a lasting impact. To the volunteers, staff, and supporters of Kampung Senang, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your selfless contributions and your dedication makes a tangible difference in the lives of others. As senior leaders, we are committed to leading by example in fostering social responsibility and this donation reflects our dedication to the spirit of 'Doing GOOD' – a value that guides our work both within the company and in the broader community."

Mdm Joyce Lye, founder of Kampung Senang also said: “Our team has been dedicated to creating a more inclusive, compassionate, and understanding society through the efforts of our 4 Kampung Senang centres and our volunteers. We actively reach out to vulnerable groups, including needy families, lonely seniors, individuals affected by cancer, and those with mobility challenges. Our initiatives include the Gift of Good Food Scheme, as well as services like the loan and maintenance of mobility aids such as wheelchairs and hospital beds. Kampung Senang first started as a small and self-funded charity; and even after achieving IPC status for 20 years, we are still relatively unknown to many Singaporeans. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with SMRT to enhance our outreach and fundraising efforts, which are crucial for sustaining our care and empowerment programmes that benefit those in need. Our goal is to raise $200,000 at this charity concert. With SMRT’s support, we are able to triple our fundraising results compared to the last two years' charity concert events. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the SMRT Chairman and his team for selecting Kampung Senang as their CSR partner.”

Through this initiative, SMRT aims to work with Kampung Senang to further strengthen its partnership to enliven public spaces in MRT stations and bus interchanges while leveraging the display panels in the SMRT network. Such activities and messages will create opportunities for exciting engagement activities and programmes for the wider community. The public can look forward to activities such as Inclusive Care Learning Programmes for seniors with limited mobility, Green & Healthy Balancing Diet, Holistic Wellness and Mindful Living and the annual Green and Healthy Charity Fair on 23 March 2025.
