Melodic Chimes on Trains and at Stations

Together with The TENG Company, a not-for-profit Singapore arts organisation, SMRT introduced melodic chimes that play across all trains and over 70 MRT stations, enhancing the travel experience along the North-South, East-West, and Circle Lines.

Composed for those who rely on auditory cues in mind, melodic chimes not only provide a delightful soundscape but also contribute to safer, smoother, and more inclusive travel within our public transport network.

Community Pianos in Stations

Set up to inspire moments of joy and entertainment, our community pianos allow aspiring musicians and talented pianists to wow fellow commuters with spontaneous musical performances.

Community pianos can be found at these stations: Orchard (North-South Line), Tanjong Pagar, Holland Village, Botanic Gardens (Circle Line), HarbourFront (Circle Line) and Bayfront (Circle Line).

Community Harp at Dhoby Ghaut station

Experience the enchanting sounds of live harp music at Dhoby Ghaut Circle Line station. Brought to you by SMRT Trains in partnership with The Harp Association (Singapore), this pilot project is designed to make your daily commute more vibrant and enjoyable.

Homegrown Talents in the Network

“I Play SG Music” campaign, spearheaded by Hear65 is a national music initiative by the National Arts Council, and produced by music media company Bandwagon. The year-long programme brings homegrown tunes to over 3 million commuters across 125 MRT, LRT stations, and bus interchanges in the SMRT network, livening your daily commute.

Additionally, in collaboration with the National Arts Council and ART:DIS Singapore, we also made available our MRT stations for talented buskers with disabilities to showcase their musical gifts.
