SMRT receives distinguished awards at the 25th Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards 2024

These accolades strongly affirm SMRT’s commitment to promoting public transportation for a greener Singapore. Through our Kaizen for Safety and Sustainability culture, we continuously enhance safety and reliability of our public transport services as well as the commute experience for our passengers and communities. Guided by our belief in 'Do Right, Do Good, Do Well', SMRT is fully committed to building a greener and better future for everyone.”

SMRT have been recognised at the 25th Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards 2024 organised by Singapore Environment Council.   The accolades were presented by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Grace Fu to SMRT Chairman, Mr Seah Moon Ming and SMRT Group CEO, Mr Ngien Hoon Ping. 

 

These awards are:

 

1. Outstanding Environmental Achievement Award 2024

SMRT has been awarded the highest recognition among 2024 SEAA winners; in commendation of the company’s exceptional and comprehensive sustainability efforts. Besides developing innovative solutions to reduce energy consumption, such as green stations and next-generation train control systems, SMRT also has various CSR efforts focusing on philanthropy, eco-awareness and partnerships with Social Service Agencies.
 

2. Systems and Management Award 2024

At SMRT, our commitment to sustainability is evident through our environmental system certifications and robust sustainability policies. We integrate sustainability into every level of our organisation and our transparent approach is reflected in how we share sustainability information through our official channels. We also closely monitor and report our environmental impact, collaborating with our supply chain vendors on sustainability.
 

3. Innovation and Design Award 2024

Serving approximately 2.5 million rides daily, we are continuously striving to enhance sustainability. By integrating data-driven technologies and expanding our sustainable infrastructure, we are committed to developing innovative, tech-driven solutions that reduce our environmental impact, in particular, green stations and advancements in Communications-based Train Control system.
