Demonstrating unwavering commitment to enhancing commuting experiences, SMRT Buses introduces NaviLens Go, a user-friendly application facilitating streamlined navigation within Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, and Woodlands bus interchanges. By scanning colored marker tags called "ddtags," users gain access to directional insights on their mobile devices, ensuring seamless journeys. The app seamlessly integrates visual cues for intuitive wayfinding.
NaviLens Go complements its predecessor, NaviLens, introduced in May 2022, which catered to visually impaired commuters at the same interchanges. Both apps utilise the same marker tags, ensuring universal accessibility without additional installations.
The unveiling of the NaviLens Go App coincided with the SMRT Green Learning Trail event at Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub. This trail epitomises SMRT's dedication to sustainability and community engagement by offering insights into eco-friendly transportation solutions and grassroots environmental initiatives.
Since late 2022, bolstered by support from the SG Eco Fund, SMRT has collaborated closely with local sustainability social enterprise Green Nudge to develop this learning trail. Led by Green Nudge guides, participants engage in a 1 hour 45-minute sheltered walking trail to grasp the evolution of sustainable public transportation and unearth community-driven green initiatives in Woodlands.
This initiative aims to foster understanding and appreciation for the eco-features embedded within the Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub (WITH), while uncovering community green efforts in Woodlands. It seeks to underscore the role of our multi-modal public transport system in combatting climate change and steering us toward a car-lite city-nation, thereby facilitating informed choices to reduce our carbon footprint.
