Seah Moon Ming

Chairman

Mr Seah Moon Ming is the Chairman of SMRT Corporation Ltd, SMRT Trains Ltd., SMRT TEL Pte Ltd., SMRT Buses Ltd. and Strides Holdings Ltd. Mr Seah also holds the position of Chairman at National University Singapore High School of Mathematics and Science. 

Previously, Mr Seah held pivotal roles such as Chairman of International Enterprise Singapore (from 2013 to 2018), Chairman of Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (from 2012 to 2020), and Chairman of Temasek Polytechnic (from 2006 to 2014). He has also served as President of Singapore Technologies Electronics Ltd (from 1997 to 2009), Deputy CEO & President (Defence) of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (from 2009 to 2013), Group CEO of Pavilion Energy (from 2013 to 2018) and board member (from 2007 to 2011) and Deputy Chairman of Ren Ci Hospital (from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013). 

In recognition of his outstanding service to Public Transportation and Education, Mr Seah was conferred the Meritorious Service Medal from the President of Singapore in 2022, and the Public Service Star [BBM] in 2014. He has also received prestigious awards from the Institute of Engineers, Singapore including the IES Lifetime Engineering Award in January 2023 and the IES/IEEE Joint Medal of Excellence Award in 2008.  Furthermore, he was also conferred the Honorary Fellowship by IES in 2003 and the Medal of Commendation (Gold) at 2020's May Day for his contributions towards enhancing workers’ wages, welfare, and work prospects.

Mr Seah is affiliated with esteemed professional bodies including a member of Eta Kappa Nu, a senior member of IEEE, a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, and an Honorary Fellow of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations.  He is also Honorary President of Singapore Table Tennis Association. 

Mr Seah holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Science (EE) with distinction from Naval Postgraduate School, USA.  He also attended the Stanford-NUS Executive Program and the Management Development & Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.

Throughout his career, Mr Seah has been recognised with several notable awards including the Oil Council's 2014 APAC Executive of the Year Award, the 2011 Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from the NUS Faculty of Engineering, the 6th International Management Action Award from the Chartered Management Institute in 2007. He was also honoured with the title of Honorary Citizen of Guiyang, Guizhou in 2008, and Honorary Citizen of Yichun, Jiangxi in 2007.
