Mr Abu Bakar Mohd Nor is a Director of SMRT Corporation Ltd and RTS Operations Pte Ltd.
Mr Bakar is concurrently the Group Chairman of Infofabrica Holdings Pte Ltd across their seven countries operations in South East Asia Region. He is also the Chairman of MiPlanet Pte Ltd, Forward Vision Pte Ltd, Vizzio Technologies Pte Ltd, SME Centre @ SMCCI Pte Ltd and WALSHUM LLC (TUFF Middle East LLC).
In addition, at the national and industry levels, Mr Bakar is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Board of Public Utilities Board, Singapore’s National Water Agency (PUB), board of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore, board of Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMCCI) Event Management, SMCCI Enterprise Pte Ltd and board advisor of Nakilat Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. He is Deputy President of SMCCI. He was appointed Deputy President in Workplace Safety and Health Council in April 2020. He is also the Chairman of Tampines Central Citizens Consultative Community for People's Association, M3@Tampines, Industrial Relation Committee of SIT, Investment Committee of MUIS, Financial and Investment Committee of PUB. He is a member of Our Tampines Hub Advisory Committee, People's Association.
Mr Bakar also served in various committees for the Ministry of Defence. He is Chief of Staff of 2 People’s Defence Force, Member of the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence. He is also a co-chairman in the Pro‐Enterprise Panel, Ministry of Trade and Industries.
In recognition of his contributions, Mr Bakar was awarded the Commendation Medal (Military) in 2002, the Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat) in 2009, and the Public Administration Medal Bronze (Military) in 2015. In October 2017, Mr Bakar received the Berita Harian Achiever of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the Community.
